Darren is RiverGen’s Managing Director where he helped close a $22.5MM equity deal for one of Indonesia’s largest publicly-listed general contracting companies with a Singaporean renewable energy fund to develop a 50MW mini-hydro portfolio over the next several years. He currently is overseeing the implementation of the joint venture as well as conducting other business development activities in Indonesia.
Prior to moving to Jakarta in 2012, Darren was the Asia Investment Officer for a London-based private equity fund. Darren also worked for Kiva where he was responsible for growing and managing Kiva’s network of microfinance partners in the Asia-Pacific Region. He was also part of Bank of America’s Leadership Rotation Program and also worked in the finance department of a large biotech firm located in the United States. In addition, brings four years of experience from the social enterprise-consulting firm Community Wealth Ventures where he assisted numerous nonprofits in launching profitable business ventures and corporate partnerships.
Darren holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Duke University. He is fluent in English, conversational in Mandarin Chinese and understands basic Indonesian.
