Who are we working with Gawad Kalinga What do we do The Focus is on: Social Enterprise & Social Innovation We organise and support missions specifically for new business opportunities for food and agriculture related social enterprises. To achieve this, Gawad Kalinga has created an amazing social innovation incubation platform, known as the “Enchanted Farm”. The Enchanted Farm is based in Bulacan and is the first of many similar projects. It binds together communities of villagers, farmers and volunteers and offers an environment where all three work together towards a common goal: launch social enterprises with an effective social impact. Why do we do it Promoting awareness of the FASE programme and Gawad Kalinga’s Enchanted Farm in the UK and US Sending UK and US graduates and postgraduates to the Philippines for social innovation missions Helping incubate social businesses by sending experienced volunteers. What have we achieved so far We have designed and supported 6 month long volunteer missions for two businesses being incubated at the Enchanted farm Green Shoots has been a regular speaker at the Gawad Kalinga Social Business Summit since 2013 Whats Next Explore the possibility of introducing long-life goods from the social businesses in the Philippines to the UK market Continue to be a fundraising medium for Social Impact Missions organised by Gawad Kalinga
